Ajgaonkar informed the house that govt spent Rs 33.68 crore on roadshows and other tourism promotional activities in the last 4 years. “Rs 33 crore is not enough and more funds are needed for effective promotion of tourism,” said Babu.
CM Sawant has later clarified that money for canceled events has remained with the organizers and not with the event management agency.
Ajgaonkar said that he is ready for inquiry in the matter. “There is no fault in holding or canceling events,” he asserted.
